July 9th - 2021 - A new frontman
By the end of 2020 Wido announces he wants to quit the band. It is time for him to move on to new adventures. Phoenix has to find a new vocalist. Since the Covid pandemic has shut down all shows and festivals, the band has time to search for a replacement frontman. Several auditions are held, but unfortunately these do not bring a suitable candidate. Then Patrick appears on Guus’ radar and after some digital meetings they decide he can come over for a real audition session, scheduled for July 9th. Patricks appearance and personality as well as his vocal qualities make him the new Phoenix frontman.

May 24th 2018 - A new drummer
When Wido started as vocalist for Phoenix the band also needed a replacement drummer. Since Wido knew Mike from former bands he was asked to audition for the job. This surf dude with long hair makes a lasting impression, being a young buck but very professional. Mike is also a very technical guy which means Phoenix has a new sound-man as well. Very handy!

May 19th 2018 - 2nd time Poland
Phoenix plays the Super Rally in Poland again. Can life be better than this?
Again we travelled to Poland with family and friends. Again we had an awesome experience. There were some fewer people than in 2013 because the local police force was very strict on alcohol consumption. This meant a lot of the bikers went to their hotels early to be able to drink (since there was no place to sleep at the festival ground itself).
Just as our first time there we met some fellow Dutchies, even from Oosterhout (Marc’s birthplace).

October 1st 2015 - A new guitar player
Guus found Jim Servaes by scrolling through Facebook feeds and Messenger posts about bands. In particular the guitar players skills and if they played on a Les Paul. Guus called Jim to ask him if he wanted to be Phoenix’ back-up guitar player, which he did. Phoenix played several shows with Jim and in the end he turned out to be the regular guitar player.

July 5th 2014 - DVD recording Roving Spirit
Phoenix needed some solid video recordings. Contact was made with David van der Maes, the owner of a video company. David brought his professional recording gear to a festival show and filmed the performance. The place was packed, so the resulting footage was great. Thanks David!

May 18th 2013 - 1st time Poland
By far the best day in the Phoenix history. We enjoyed every part of it, the preparations, the rehearsals, planning the trip, the stay, the gig itself…
We were received as vip’s, we had actual roadies and the backline on stage was waiting for us exactly as we had ordered it. Food, drinks, everything was accounted for. Awesome!
We travelled to Wroclaw with family and friends and found the Harley Davidson Super Rally held in a former Olympic stadium. In the end Phoenix played for a whopping 10.000 man crowd, which was a whole new experience.
All of this because of our ‘manager’ Guus who arranged it all.

November 11th 2013 - Second demo
A new vocalist means Phoenix needed new promotion demo. This time the band hit the Swamp Studio at Raamsdonksveer owned by Jo van Strien (River Zydeco Band). The demo was engineered by Edwin Balrogh (ex Tamas a.o.) and Stephen van Haastregt (ex Within Temptation). Phoenix had a fun day, learned a bunch of new things and had a shiny new demo as a result.

October 24th 2009 - First demo @ Jack's place Rijsbergen
A band needs to be promoted. Phoenix decides to record a demo with a few of the songs. The CD’s are sold at the live shows and some of the tracks hit the internet(Hyves was still popular back then).
The demo was recorded at Jack’s studio over the course of a single weekend and the final mixing took some additional evenings. A whole new and fun experience for Phoenix.

May 30th 2009 - First live performance @ café Oud Brabant Oosterhout
The very first live show is an important milestone for any band. Phoenix was ready to rock and gave an energetic show.
The crowd loved it. This is what we want, and we want more!
